Filippo's mother was a poet with a
predilection for the opera.  His older sister
was a pianist at the music conservatory
in Parma.  Love for the arts
was nurtured by daily life.  His passion
for the visual arts best suited his
temperament and unfortunate tin ear.

His love affair with America started as a
teenager addicted to American movies. 
Eager to learn English and travel to
the United States, Filippo pursued his
education in New York, Chicago
and Los Angeles.
